pic-sharon.jpgI worked at another bank’s call centre for six months before joining Nationwide. I enjoyed the financial sector, but I wanted a customer facing role rather than spending all day on the phone.

I was 19 at the time and I’ve been here eleven years now. And, if anything, I’d say that Nationwide’s dedicated approach to customer service, and desire to make customers feel valued has grown even stronger in that time.

The job I do now is really fast paced, so I have to manage my time well. And, of course, at every stage I need to make sure customers are treated fairly, which means my priorities are ever-changing to ensure each individual’s needs are met.

The most fulfilling thing about my job is the feeling I get from knowing I’ve made customers better off. The huge variety of enquiries that I deal with make it incredibly interesting too. For a Host like me, it’s true to say that every day is different.

I have developed quite a widespread –not to mention in-depth - knowledge of Nationwide’s products and services over the years. And I take enormous pride in matching them to each customer’s individual needs.

I work within a very supportive team, and the training and development we receive is ongoing. The rewards are pretty impressive too. Bonuses are essentially uncapped, which means there is no limit to your earning potential. All in all, I’d say that if you’re sales and service focused, there’s no better place to build your career.
