Graeme Hughes - Group Director HR, Customer Experience and Corporate Affairs

Our customer account managers play a really important role within the branch network.  For most of our customers this will be the first chance they’ve ever had to sit down and talk to somebody about their financial needs.  And your role will be to really explore those financial needs, and that might mean that you sell them a product that helps them or that you refer them on to a colleague who can help them in a different way.

Why should you join Nationwide? Well, our reputation for customer service is second to none in the high street.  Ideally you’ll come from either a retail banking backgrounds or a financial services background and you’ll be really excited about helping customers.  So if you think you’re that type of person please apply now.

Katherine - Customer Account Manager

I'm Katherine Gilbert and I'm a customer account manager. The best part of my job is being able to make people better off, being able to sit and talk and get to know lots of different people from different walks of life, and helping them. This branch I love it, because I love the people I work with, the managers are good, but don't tell them I said that. It's such a friendly environment. It's a grade one as well, it's a flagship branch so there's always people constantly coming through the door and you're never sat around doing nothing, there's always something to do. You're always learning something every day. You never get bored, ever. It's great.

You’ll sit down with customers, identify their needs and either sell them the right product or refer them on to a colleague. So you can help customers choose what’s right for them, you’ll develop a thorough understanding of everything from credit cards and loans to savings accounts and insurance. And you’ll also help coach Customer Representatives on how to generate leads and follow in your footsteps.

You might have already proved your worth in customer service or sales. You’ll certainly have sound PC skills and plenty of motivation. And, just as important, you’ll have the people skills needed to build long-term relationships with your customers.

You’ll get as much out as you put in: our excellent bonus scheme rewards personal, as well as team, performance.
