Our customer representatives are the front face of Nationwide and the type of person I’m looking for is somebody who is really passionate about customer service, somebody who wants to help our customers be much better off, somebody who is really excited about achieving not only your own goals but those for your team, because in Nationwide the more you contribute the more you’ll get back. My name's Hannah and I'm a customer representative. I'll be out the front one point and then the next point I might be on the till running around doing the bankers duties and things. The best thing about working in the role that I do would probably be that every day I'm doing something different. I never get bored and I enjoy the people that I work with. I've got loads of great friends so we work as a great team.
Probably the most challenging part can be sometimes time management. You've just got to make sure you're on top of the ball and you know what you've got to do throughout the day. There's always help though if you need to ask your managers and things, just to step in and get a little job done for you then they're always happy to do that, so that does make the job a lot easier.
Customer Representatives offer customers great service while making sure we meet their financial needs in the most appropriate way.
You’ll welcome customers into the branch, deal with all their day-to-day needs and identify sales leads. You might be greeting people as they come in, manning the counters or behind a desk showing customers the different ways we can help them. As your experience grows, so will your responsibilities. Before long, you’ll be opening accounts, selling products and hitting targets. And our excellent bonus scheme will reward your personal, as well as your team’s, performance.
A warm, lively personality, a flair for detail and a real way with people are all vital. While a customer service background would be a big plus.
