Training that I received from Nationwide was very good, you get sent on courses, we do our Cmap exams, so you're given time from Nationwide to study. It's a qualification that you can keep then and the training is just constantly ongoing.

The support and training that Nationwide offer to its employees is absolutely fantastic. Right from day one, for managers and for service consultants, which is what I manage. You have three to four weeks basic training, then you go into a very supported, cossetted environment and the support you get is daily, whether it be from your colleagues, from your manager, or your senior manager, there's always somebody around to offer advice and help and support.

The training and the development here is really good. Your manager is always behind you. If you want help, don't be afraid to ask either a colleague, manager, trainer, they’ll always be right behind you.

The training started off when I first joined, we had six months of probation, where it started off by learning the different accounts - mortgages, insurance and the bank accounts. And we would then have work support where we spent time on the phone dealing with the customers, but with support with us. After we finished that we then moved onto our teams and there's additional courses which we've been able to take, to further our development and move our careers further on with Nationwide.

I've had the opportunity to go on courses, workshops, on the job training. Its whatever suits the person as an individual really. You think, I'm not sure I really want to go on that one, but when you go and you find that you have really learnt something its a really nice feeling.

 

It’s not hard to see why we’ve been recognised in this way. Over recent years we’ve continued to develop and invest in innovative training and development for our people so that our members receive the products and levels of service they deserve.
