Product Management

In Product Management our teams develop products and services that meet the needs of our members. These include mortgages, savings accounts, banking products (such as current accounts, personal loans and credit cards) as well as products for general insurance, protection and investments. They then manage the pricing and customer experience, support our distribution channels and analyse performance.

Product Management consists of various different functions: Product Management and Pricing devises innovative propositions for everything from loans to credit cards, then prices them to ensure they are competitive. Product Strategy and Planning drives continuous improvement in product performance, providing detailed insight into current and emerging issues, risks and opportunities. Change and Implementation executes product, process and system changes.

Graduates

Product Management is looking for graduates to support either our mortgage and general insurance products, or our banking products. Either way, your work will be of critical importance to the business.

Nationwide is the UK’s 3rd largest mortgage provider. We’ve been helping people buy their homes for over 160 years, and last year we loaned more than £13bn of new mortgages. We also have 2 million insurance covers across our product suite, protecting homes, cars, buy-to-let properties and even mortgage payments.

On the banking side we provide market-leading current accounts, credit cards and personal loans that people depend on up and down the country. Last financial year, Nationwide opened a third of a million new standard accounts, and through Flexclusives we’ve been able to offer preferential savings rates, great mortgage offers and discounted loans to our most loyal account holders. We also have around 1.5m credit card customers, and last year we loaned out nearly £700m in loan products.

As a graduate you could do anything from helping to manage our products and developing compelling product propositions, to supporting the implementation of each product’s marketing plan. You’ll also help define and communicate a multiple-year strategy for our products and, when necessary, recommend process changes to enable us to achieve our business targets.

Requirements

To join, you’ll need a 2:1 degree in any discipline and 260 UCAS points (excluding general studies) or the equivalent.

Confident and with excellent communication skills, you’ll be the type of person who isn’t happy unless your customers are.
