Working environment
Light, bright and sea viewsYou’ll be co-located with a wide range of other functions as the Bournemouth contact centre is part of our Bournemouth head office. A modern, seven-story building flooded with natural light, it’s set on a hill overlooking the town centre and the Bournemouth Gardens. Some of the windows have sea views. In fact, it’s just a five minute walk to the beach. In the summer there are bands playing in the gardens and Nationwide people often spend their lunch hours there.
Everything you need on your doorstep
It’s also very close to the town centre which means all the shops and restaurants are on our doorstep. You can spend your lunch break shopping or just pop out to WH Smiths and be back in 15 minutes easily.
Work with people you’ll have fun with
Although it’s a hive of activity, the contact centre is also designed to make work as fun and stress-free as possible. The sociable, atmosphere is reinforced by regular nights out for teams as well as the whole contact centre. The Slug & Lettuce pub, just a stone’s throw away, is the venue for most Friday night drinks.
As you’d expect, the facilities are pretty impressive. They include:
- A large, subsidised restaurant with a big, comfy lounge chair area
- Outdoor balconies
- An internet café
- A fully equipped, modern gym offering lunchtime fitness classes. Membership is only £12 a month
- Full air-conditioning
- Free tea, coffee and water from a machine
Be part of a supportive team
We mostly work in teams of 10 people, each with a team leader. The dress code is smart-casual – men, for instance, don’t have to wear suits – although we do expect you to look professional.
