There’s more than a busy, buzzy contact centre at our Northampton office. There’s also a Nationwide administration centre employing many other departments such as Treasury, Mortgage Services and Commercial. Altogether the building houses nearly 3,000 people.

Our opening hours

The contact centre itself operates from 8.00am to 8.00pm Monday to Friday, and 9.00am to 5.00pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The opening hours differ slightly for roles in Direct or Lending Control but whatever role you join us in, you’ll need to be happy to work flexible eight-hour shifts.

Typical shifts for Customer Sales and Customer Service Advisers

8:00am – 4:00pm
9:00am – 5:00pm
10.00am – 6.00pm
11:00am – 7:00pm
12.00noon – 8.00pm

There’s a dedicated evening team of part-timers in Lending Control who work from 4:30pm – 8:00pm.

Customer-focused, whatever your hours
The work is all about people, not paperwork. So whether you join us in a sales or service role, you’ll spend 90% of your time on the phone talking to customers and complete your admin on a computer. You can work full-time or part-time.

  • Full-time is 35 hours per week
  • Part-time is at least 15 hours per week
  • Overtime is time and a half (for over 35 hours per week)
