How much will I be paid?

Can I apply to more than one of the Specialist Programmes?
Each Programme offers very different opportunities and it's therefore unlikely that more than one would suit your career preferences. There is information on each Specialist area on the website that should help you choose which programme you are best suited to.

Will Nationwide apply for a work permit for me?
Can I apply from outside the UK?
I need a work permit for the UK / I don't have a work permit.
Currently, you need to be eligible to work in the UK to apply. We cannot accept applications to our programme from candidates who require a work permit to work in the UK.

How long will the Nationwide Management Development Programme Last?
Graduates typically finish the NMDP within two years.
Industrial Placements typically last for 12 months.
Summer internships last for 8-12 weeks.

What support will I receive?
All graduates are allocated a 'buddy' and mentor. Support is also available from the Talent & Executive Development team.

Yes, we encourage applications from existing employees who are graduates. Your application and assessment will be subject to the same process.

Where am I likely to be based?
For the Graduate Programme, your location will depend on the business area you join, full mobility is a requirement whilst on the programme. Our Industrial Placements and Summer internships are based in Northampton.

What provisions do Nationwide make for graduates with a disability?

What is the closing date for applications?
Our closing date is the 30 April 2009, although placements will close as places are filled. We strongly encourage you to apply early, as places fill up fast. Closing date for Summer internships is 31 December 2008.

Are expenses incurred during the recruitment process reimbursed?
Yes, we will refund any reasonable expenses up to the maximum of £50.00, so hang on to your receipts.

What does the recruitment process involve?
Your application is screened according to set criteria and if successful, you will be invited to take some online psychometric tests, if successful we will ask you to come to Swindon or Northampton for a first stage interview. If successful, you will be invited to a one day assessment centre. You will be required to stay overnight on the evening before the centre which will be an all-day event. Further information on this stage will also be provided to you closer to the time. On occasions you may be required to have a 3rd stage interview.

What qualifications do I need to apply?
Candidates must have a 2:1 degree in any discipline and 240 UCAS points (excluding General Studies) or the equivalent.
