What attracted you to Nationwide?
What attracted me to Nationwide? That would probably have to be the money and the benefits package, basically if you look at what other competitors in the financial services market pay, and what Nationwide pay, they are above average. Also the pension scheme is very good, the health care scheme you can enter is great and the choices plan that you can take advantage of as well is really good. So basically all round the package.
Why did you choose to join your business area?
I chose to join marketing because my background has been in marketing and before coming to Nationwide it was quite diverse and I worked in a number of different areas. I wanted to focus this job on a specialism within marketing knowing that Nationwide did a lot of advertising, sponsorship and communications I thought there was a good place to join and to channel my expertise.
How long have you been in your current role?
I have been in my current role for just over a year now. I have been with Nationwide for almost 2 years. So I have had the opportunity already to move into a more specialised area in a role that I enjoy.
What do you love most about your job?
The thing I love most about my job is the people I actually work with. We have a lot of tight deadlines and a lot of challenging tasks within the team and we all pull together and help each other to deliver those. So it’s really good working with people that you can trust and depend on.
What support and training have you had since you joined?
Since I joined Nationwide there has been a lot of support and training. They actually offer a sponsorship team so if you want to undertake professional qualifications you can. So I have actually undertaken a CIM diploma in marketing, they pay for that and also incentivise you to actually complete it. They also do a lot of internal courses; personal impact courses and influencing skills courses which you can attend which help you with your every day tasks.
My PRIDE item
This poster represents pride because it shows how several teams had to pull together to deliver new rates within tight deadlines.
