What we do
Not everyone with a Nationwide mortgage has bought it direct from us. Many customers benefit from our products and services by going through a mortgage broker, or intermediary.
We are Nationwide’s number one mortgage distribution channel, generating many billions of new mortgage business for the Society each year. We sell products from Nationwide and our Specialist Lending subsidiary The Mortgage Works.

How we’re structured
Our main divisions are Intermediary Sales and Intermediary Sales Support.
Intermediary Sales
We have a dedicated field sales and relationship management team, whose job is to work with intermediaries directly and major accounts: the goal is to ensure Nationwide is top of mind when the broker is discussing mortgages with their clients, they do this by:
- Every day discussing sales opportunities, key features and market developments with key intermediaries – to help them maximise the potential of their business for the benefit of both parties
- Present key marketing messages to intermediary sales meetings
- Seek out new sales opportunities within the regions of the country and help nationwide turn these opportunities into new sales lines
- Discuss and win marketing budgets for your clients to promote the brand most effectively
- And most importantly, deliver the sales targets that Nationwide requires of you
Intermediary Sales Support
Here we support the Business Development Managers who sell our products to mortgage brokers and Independent Financial Advisors by:
- handling enquiries from mortgage brokers and IFAs
- proactively generating leads, targeting large firms (and earning a performance-related bonus)
- working to resolve issues and complaints.
- Supports the registration of Mortgage Brokers for Nationwide and The Mortgage Works.
- Pays commissions for introduced mortgage cases across the above brands.
- Produces Management Information for use by Relationship Managers across the business.
- Provides admin support to the Regional Sales Managers

What we look for
Whatever area you work in you’ll need to be driven, well organised and self-reliant.
If you work in Sales you’ll also need to:
- know your market and how to target it
- spot sales opportunities
- build lasting relationships with the brokers through great customer service
- build great relationships with Business Development Managers across the business.
In Sales Support you will need:
- to be methodical, accurate and meticulous with detail
- to be passionate about improving the customer experience
- the drive to realise business opportunities.
Where you’d work
Work in Sales Support and you’ll be based in our Bournemouth office. Work in Sales and you could be based anywhere in the UK.
