Treasury is an exciting and demanding area of our business. We raise wholesale funding, manage liquidity and minimise interest rate risk for the Group.

We're also the team with responsibility for originating structured finance transactions and managing investment portfolios as well as helping to achieve best returns on the Group's asset portfolios.

2013 is another important year for Nationwide's Treasury Division. Treasury front office (market facing) functions will be relocating to new London offices and shortly afterwards, back office and support functions will move to Swindon.

The Treasury Modelling team is responsible for developing the statistical and mathematical models to assess and understand the market, liquidity and credit risks of our £190 billion balance sheet. 

You’ll be proactive and keen to take ownership of modelling projects from start to finish.  You’ll have a keen eye for detail, but also great people skills.  Working for the largest building society in the world your models will be used for calculating numbers in the billions of pounds. 

The role will be high profile, occasionally pressured, and have a real impact on Nationwide’s business.

Senior Treasury Manager - Product Risk

Managing the Product Risk Team (team of 7) within our Treasury Department you’ll be advising on how Nationwide manages product risks on a £191bn balance sheet. You will lead the development of methods to manage the risk of products areas such as mortgages, savings, and current accounts.

Your work will be wide-ranging co-ordinating delivery and improvement in: the way we report our hedging risks up to board level; the way we manage these risks; the controls we have in place to manage product risks; and even influencing the quality of the data we use for decision making.

You’ll also be managing a team of five (a mixture of senior and graduate level staff), leading their personal development through day-to-day line-management and reviewing their work before board level review.
