What attracted you to Nationwide?
I was first attracted to Nationwide when I left college and wasn’t sure what to do, so I wanted to go to a big local company that had good prospects.
Why did you choose to join your business area?
I chose to join Payment Services because I wanted to work in a real life area which I could relate to because I'd never worked in banking before.
How do you see your future at Nationwide?
The future at Nationwide looks exciting. Nationwide’s quite a forward-thinking company so whatever happens I’m sure will be an exciting challenge.
What support and training have you had since joining?
Since I’ve joined the society I’ve had supportive team managers and internal courses and whatever training I feel I need.
Can you give an example of PRIDE values in action?
In relation to PRIDE there’s been a lot of changes across the society and restructures. And there’s been one individual in HR that has really stood out for me. She did everything she could; went out of her way for me, kept her promises, so much so that I sent her a PRIDE card.
Has working at Nationwide turned out as you expected, and if not, how has it differed?
I never really had any expectations for working at Nationwide, but it’s been exciting, I’ve not been disappointed and I can’t wait to see what the challenges ahead are.
My PRIDE item
I’ve brought this giraffe which is one half of a pair, my daughter has the other half. Every time I see my daughter I strive to be the best mother I can, and I bring these same values to my work life at Nationwide. That’s why this is my PRIDE object.
