Due to internal promotion we have the below vacancy available in our Cost Management team.
You’ll be reporting to a Senior Finance Manager as part of a team of 5 within our Financial Performance Department of over 250 permanent employees. The team you’ll work in is responsible for being the primary source of reporting to our executive committee on Nationwide’s cost. Your work will focus on delivering our executive committee’s strategic target of a 50/50 cost in income ratio by 2016.
Day-to-day your input will be used to update our five year cost plan, and analyse in-year performance. To do this you’ll be working with Finance Managers across the business, gathering cost information, to tell our cost story.
With the information collected you’ll help prepare papers, for the Cost Management Steering Committee, which provide insight on potential risks and issues that could impact us meeting our cost targets.
In this role you’ll work with colleagues across Nationwide and be driving challenging conversations while learning how to influence a cost saving agenda. On top of that you’ll be working in an area that has to predict the strategic spend of Nationwide, pre-empting the development needs of the business, and how cost management impacts the strategy of a multi-billion £ organisation.
