Fraud Analyst (Part Time)- Fixed Term Contract (12months)

The role will be working on a part time basis of 20 hours per week on a fixed shift pattern. This will be 3 days 5pm – 8pm, 1 day 4pm – 8pm and Saturday 9-5 pm.

Special Investigations Department, known affectionately as SID, is responsible for protecting Nationwide and its members from all types of financial crime, including fraud, money laundering, bribery and corruption.

Nationwide have invested in leading edge detection systems to help prevent fraud, and these systems are exploited by a professional team of experts that have built an outstanding reputation with industry leading results.

The SID team are passionate about fighting crime and proud of the job that they do for the Society every minute of every day.  We are looking to recruit a Fraud Analyst to join our team who are driven by delivering excellent customer service and want to combat fraud in the future.

The Fraud Analyst role in Special Investigations covers a variety of areas, from vetting applications when they first arrive in the Society, identifying fraud through our detection systems, talking to customers who may have been the victims of fraud, refunding and repairing the account and then recovering any loss where possible.

As a Governance and Control Manager, you’ll manage the Outbound Customer Communications Framework which is a critical control mechanism that  that ensures our customers can enjoy the reliable service they expect from us by developing customer communications that deliver fair outcomes.

In this role you will be responsible for managing the development, integration and continued embedding of a robust framework for the purposes of Outbound Customer Communications. Working within Governance, Risk & Control, Group Retail to support the business in managing and monitoring its communications. Furthermore, you will be pivotal in coordinating the regular production of management information to ensure the business is adhering to, and is complaint with, the OCC framework.

This will support the Board’s objective of ensuring the maintenance of a sound system of internal control and risk management in order to contribute to the growth of the business.   

Operational Risk supports the business in real time in managing the risks it faces in its day-to-day activities as well as in implementing change programmes.

You will be excellent at relationship management and be accustomed to using a variety of advanced influencing techniques. You don’t need to be an Operational Risk expert, but any risk management or finance experience would be an advantage.  You could have experience in any of the following areas:

  • Audit (internal or external)
  • Big 4 accountancy firm assurance / consultancy services
  • Operational, Financial or Compliance Risk
  • Finance departments
  • SOX implementation
  • Financial services experience ideal, however experience in large corporations in other sectors will also be considered
