Senior Risk Consultant – Asset Liability Management

As part of the ALM team (7 people) within our Treasury department you’ll be advising on how Nationwide manages the interest rate, funding and liquidity risks of our c.£190billion balance sheet.

Your work will consider how changes in market factors  such as interest rates, funding costs, and foreign exchange rates could impact profitability; how changes in customer behaviour impact the Group’s financial position and how regulatory changes impact the way we manage our balance sheet.  

Overall this role has a real impact in making sure we remain a healthy business and a good place for our members to put their money. It will be high profile and pressurised but it will give you experience of how high value risk management impacts business strategy.

Senior Treasury Manager - Product Risk

Managing the Product Risk Team (team of 7) within our Treasury Department you’ll be advising on how Nationwide manages product risks on a £191bn balance sheet. You will lead the development of methods to manage the risk of products areas such as mortgages, savings, and current accounts.

Your work will be wide-ranging co-ordinating delivery and improvement in: the way we report our hedging risks up to board level; the way we manage these risks; the controls we have in place to manage product risks; and even influencing the quality of the data we use for decision making.

You’ll also be managing a team of five (a mixture of senior and graduate level staff), leading their personal development through day-to-day line-management and reviewing their work before board level review.
