IFRS 9 is the most fundamental change to financial reporting in the financial services industry for many years and has far-reaching implications, changing the way we think about business and accounting processes, and integrating financial reporting and credit risk management. This gives us a fantastic opportunity to invest in building a high calibre team of people with expert accounting knowledge and also the strategic vision and influencing skills to help us deliver this major change programme. Most importantly, this is a long term investment which will create a permanent capability to deliver strategic accounting change in the future.
Working on one of Nationwide’s highest profile change programmes, our team applies accounting knowledge to help develop appropriate solutions. We work with senior stakeholders from different business areas to help them to understand the changes, and shape the design of future reporting, management information and business processes. We work closely with our colleagues from Group Risk Division to develop the analysis we’ll need. You’ll be working in a Finance team dedicated to the IFRS 9 programme but will also be part of the wider Nationwide Finance community, with all the opportunities for development which come from being part of a major Group Finance function. The breadth of our work gives you an unparalleled opportunity to build a network across many areas of our business, both inside and out of Group Finance.
