The best of both worlds

We know face-to-face banking matters. So we’ve renewed our Branch Promise until at least 2026. At Nationwide, we also place high value on colleagues being together in person.

More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid working approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate.

Empowering our people to spend at least 2 days in the office and up to 3 days home working (if they would like to) is highly competitive in the market and this flexibility can help bring a positive balance to work and life. Of course, this is just one of the ways our colleagues can work flexibly.

At Nationwide, you’ll be part of a high-performing, purpose-driven organisation that offers rewarding career experiences and a highly competitive range of benefits to match.

Why is hybrid working important?

We know how our colleagues have been positively impacted by hybrid working. We want them to make the most of the freedom and flexibility it brings, without compromising our ability to fulfil our roles and responsibilities.

Our connection to each other and to Nationwide’s purpose is one of our key strengths. Spending time together helps us build and strengthen relationships, we can collaborate on important work, and support colleague wellbeing.

How our branch colleagues work

Our Member Representatives, Branch Managers and other branch colleagues deliver essential face to face services to our customers in our High Street branches. So you’ll need to work on site and be within a 45 minute commute of the branch you’re applying to work in.

Here’s the good news. Whilst major banks continue to close branches, we’re keeping ours open. Nationwide’s commitment to the High Street means we now have the UK’s largest network, with over 600 branches. So if the location you’re considering is outside the 45 minutes then you just need to check our other vacancies that are closer to you.
