On this site you’re able to look at our roles, read stories from our current employees and get a feel for what it’s like to be part of the team at Nationwide.
If you think a career with us might be right for you, you can view our current vacancies under the careers tab where you’ll find information about our different business areas.
Applications for all our vacancies are done online via our careers website. For most of these roles, you’ll be asked to upload a CV and complete an online form about your previous experience. We’ll send you an acknowledgement email to let you know that we’ve received your application, or you might find it helpful to create a ‘Candidate Profile’ to view its status.
We’ll review your application and let you know the outcome within a week of the advertised closing date. If successful, we’ll be in touch to arrange the next stage.
For some roles, we might ask you to complete an online assessment which will relate to the role you’ve applied for. If this is the case, you’ll be given opportunity to practice for these assessments beforehand so you'll know what to expect.
For most vacancies, you’ll be invited to an interview which may be face to face or over the phone, or maybe even Skype. As well as giving the interviewer a chance to get to know you, the interview is a two-way communication and your chance to learn more about the role. The interviewers are not there to catch you out, they are simply trying to match your skills and values with those required to fill the vacancy.

To help us process your application quickly, it’s important that you bring supporting documentation with you to verify your right to work in the UK.
You'll need to bring:
- Proof of address with a bank or utility statement issued within the last 3 months.
- Proof of identify with a valid passport or birth certificate.
- A signed declaration of consent (we will email this to you before the interview).
We’ll usually let you know an outcome within a week of the final interview taking place. Although it’s best to check with your interviewer when this might be.
If you’re successful through our assessment and selection process, congratulations! We look forward to you joining the Nationwide team. We usually ask that you reply to our offer within 2 days after which a recruiter will be in touch to guide you through our on-boarding process and pre-employment checks.
If you aren’t successful, of course we’ll let you know.
When we have that conversation we’ll provide feedback to you so you’ll know why. We’ll gladly accept another application from you, but in order to maximise your chance of success, we suggest that you wait around 6 months and take this time to work on the feedback you received before applying for a similar role.
