Who we are
Our branches are the friendly face of a huge financial services business. With more than 700 branches across the UK we're one of the biggest names on the High Street - so chances are there's a Nationwide branch near you.
What you'll be doing
Our one-to-one, face-to-face customer relationships probably have the most impact on how our customers feel about us. Whatever your role, you'll be right on the front line of our business, helping us pinpoint the needs of customers and making them better off.
Whether you're getting to know customers and identifying the right product for their needs, or you're taking responsibility for a team, a branch or a whole area, it's hugely satisfying - and very varied.
If you're flexible and have a real way with people, we'll bring out the best in you with the right support, thorough, tailored training and loads of prospects.
Who we're looking for
It's all about teamwork at Nationwide. And nowhere more so than in our branch network. People here constantly refer customers to each other, lend support wherever it's needed and work together to make sure customers get the products and services they need. Most openings are in our branches but we sometimes also recruit into Area roles.
Most people join us as a Customer Representative welcoming customers into the branch, meeting their day-to-day needs whilst providing an excellent customer service.
Or you could start out as a Personal Banking Manager identifying the needs of the customers across a range of our products - everything from credit cards and loans to savings accounts and insurance - building strong relationships, meeting the needs of the customer whilst being focused on providing a great service.

From here there are many other roles to progress into, and we also recruit from outside of Nationwide into all of our roles. For many, you don't need financial services experience.

We've split the UK into 25 Areas. Each has an Area Director, two District Managers and a number of Area Managers. District Managers manage six to ten branches each. Area Managers manage teams of Mortgage Consultants or Financial Planning Managers.
Area staff are based in an Area office but travel regularly to visit branches.
