TDP Degree Apprentice wins silver
Congratulations to James who came second place in this year’s Apprentice of the Year.
Engineering Manager, Denis Lewis, said, ‘James is an excellent example of how we can take an individual with potential and provide a safe learning environment in which they can develop. James has been in the SI Squad from the point he joined the Apprenticeship scheme almost two years ago. During that time, he has significantly expanded his knowledge and experience within this area.
He started off supporting the Design Authority, taking minutes in meetings, to gain an understanding of Design and how the components of the platform fit together to deliver performant solutions. Soon after he moved into the performance engineering function within the Squad.
James joined this team with no knowledge of performance engineering, but his thirst for knowledge has served him well. He started off being given specific tasks to complete but has grown to a point where he is using accountable freedom to influence his work.
This was reflected in his Star of the Month award (Feb 2019) within the SI Squad, his Fresh Perspective award nomination at the Annual Awards, his performance rating for 2018/19 and now his second place in Degree Apprentice of the Year.Read less
