Bringing together the Group-wide operations and strategic development

Group Operations is headed by Tony Prestedge, Chief Operating Officer.

Tony joined the Nationwide Board in 2007 and is responsible for Group Operations, which brings together Group wide operations, technology, and strategic transformation functions. His Divisional accountabilities include Operational Strategy and Architecture, Business Transformation, Enterprise and Digital Development, Group Services, encompassing Technology Operations, Payments and Property Management, together with Telephone Channels and Customer Operations who lead the Group's product and customer event processing and contact centres.

Tony is also accountable for Nationwide's growing offshored operations in India. Tony joined Nationwide from the Portman Group where he was Executive Director, Operations prior to which he was Managing Director Home Finance for Barclays PLC and a member of both the Retail Banking and Woolwich PLC Executive Committees.

Group Operations brings together the Group-wide operations and strategic development functions. It's responsible for ensuring great customer service and, over the next five years, driving a £2.5billion transformation across ten strategic investment themes, in support of Nationwide's digital society strategy.
