This is a fantastic chance to join Nationwide’s Liquidity Reporting function, at a time when the team is expanding its remit.

The team is responsible for overseeing the production and review of liquidity reporting and forecasting, ensuring we are setup for future regulatory and business changes as well as supporting the efficiency agenda.

We’re recruiting for two roles. For the first role, responsibility includese supporting with the development and deliverables of the regulatory reporting part of the team and for the second role, responsibility includes supporting the liquidity forecasting activity undertaken for planning and various stress testing activity. Both roles also require supporting wider team objectives and deliverables.

The keys to success in this role are:

  • Experience of Liquidity Regulatory reporting (e.g. PRA110 / LCR / NSFR / ILAAP)
  • Being able to successfully manage a small team
  • An ability to thrive under evolving reporting requirements and to work to tight timescales
  • Clear communication and relationship building skills
  • Stong ability to problem solve and make good decisions
  • A wide range of technical balance sheet knowledge, including retail, treasury and office

The Liquidity Reporting team forms part of the wider Reporting & Forecasting team within the Treasury function at Nationwide. These roles will report to a Senior Consultant in the Liquidity and Product Risk Reporting team.

What you’ll be doing

Working in the Liquidity and Product risk team, the first role will support in leading the team that is responsible for producing regulatory reporting with a particular focus on liquidity, including the weekly PRA110 return, the monthly LCR & ALMM returns, the quarterly NSFR & AE returns and other regulatory disclosures.

You’ll be part of a fast-paced reporting team with a high required volume of output that will mean you’ll have to think on your feet and problem solve while ensuring all demands and deliverables are met. As we are at the heart of the business, you’ll have exposure to senior management, the ability to shape and influence the team and wider team agenda as well as managing external relationships.

As the team also works collaboratively to undertake numerous daily reporting tasks, this will give you exposure to a broader range of liquidity and product risk reporting, from the daily liquidity reporting pack to the internal product risk (retail hedging) tickets.

The second role will support in leading the team that is reponsible for implementing changes to our liquidity forecasting processes as the team widens its reporting remit. This includes forecasting changes to our short-term and long-term forecasts which support business decisions through the Financial Planning process, varioust stress testing activity, including CST and Recovery & Resolution and Funding in Resolution (FiR).

You’ll be part of a dynamic change team with a high volume of reporting and forecasting change deliverables which require understanding of forecasting process and key liquidity and funding metrics.

You will also have the opportunity to support regulatory reporting change programmes, helping to deliver important changes to our future reporting.

About you

As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have:

  • Advanced excel skills including VBA; proficiency in building new/improving existing formulae and macro-driven spreadsheets.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a proven track record in delivering outstanding results through a team.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to review highly technical reporting or forecasting to identify anomalies and discrepancies.
  • A proven track record in managing and maintaining robust control and governance processes while balancing this with the efficiency and process improvement agenda.
  • A history of undertaking regulatory or internal reporting or forecasting in a finance or treasury environment, ideally within the liquidity space.
  • Experience in change management processes.
  • An ability to interpret regulatory guidance, assessing this against existing reporting or forecasting and translating this into easy to digest information for stakeholders.
  • Able to deal with conflicting demands and prioritise deliverables.
