In this business critical and commercially significant role in the Mortgages & Financial Wellbeing (M&FW) function, as Head of Intermediary Sales & New Build, you’ll lead the Regional Sales Teams consisting of 4 Regional Managers, 38 Business Development Managers, 16 Telephone Business Development Managers and their Team Manager. You’ll drive and support the Society’s lending targets across both Nationwide and TMW (‘The Mortgage Works’) and Intermediary new build strategy, with responsibility for strengthening relations with developers and specialist new build brokers, whilst managing propositional changes to support the sector.

In addition, you’ll represent IR on various internal groups to ensure product and service proposition helps support the delivery of lending and margin targets. And, as a seasoned SME, you’ll be a recognised main platform speaker at industry events, with responsibility for trade body engagement.

About you

To be successful in this, you’ll need to demonstrate:

  • Extensive experience of sales management and achievement of targets and key objectives through team working.
  • Extensive knowledge of the intermediary market, with a wide network of key national introducer contacts in the mortgage industry and specialist new build market.
  • Proven leadership and negotiation ability at executive level.
  • Proven track record of leading front line operational support and sales teams.
  • Ideally a post graduate qualification e.g. ACIB, CeMAP.
