Who we're looking for
You’ll understand the value of face to face. Our branches, and more importantly, the people within them, are the cornerstone of our future proposition; that’s why we’ve already invested millions on c.250 branches and throughout 2019/20 we will continue to evolve the branch network with progression of our Branch Transformation programme.
We are also continuing to invest significantly in the implementation of more digital enablement and technology to support how we transform the way we service our members needs as well as a substantial investment programme into the learning and development of our people.
This Senior Executive role provides a compelling opportunity for a recognised thought leader to support our continued pledge to maintaining a strong retail presence to continually meet the needs of our customers on a day to day basis.
Therefore, to be successful in this role you’ll need to have:
• Proven track record within a Regulated Financial Services environment
• Outstanding leadership and management skills, with the ability to successfully lead Senior Regional Teams remotely
• Extensive experience of leading change programmes
• The ability to deal with complex issues and juggle conflicting priorities
• Ability to understand and contribute to the strategic debates surrounding the execution of the Society’s Strategy, product & sales improvements, multi-channel development and delivery while converting strategy into action
• A clear understanding of key competitor activities & Nationwide’s resulting market opportunities
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to prioritise & measure success
• The ability to network & influence at a senior level within the business
What you'll be doing
As one of 8 Regional Directors in the whole branch network, you’ll find no day is ever the same. Reporting directly to the Director of Branch Network your role will be responsible for shaping the strategy at Regional level. You will seek out and promote opportunities to develop a seamless multi-channel proposition across your Region including building effective relationships with Financial Planning, Mortgage, Direct and Nationwide NOW channels, to drive business growth and ensure maximum customer benefit from all access points to build market penetration. As well as the support of your branch network you will also be part of the wider society leadership team which comprises of our top 200 leaders group within the society providing you with the opportunity to create a supportive and strong peer group.
Integral to success will be your leadership experience and management of diverse and remote teams. As an experienced leader, we expect you to be able to motivate and lead the full Regional network team c. 750 colleagues acting as a role model, and build an engaged team who are comfortable to bring their ‘best self’ to work, understand their role and how it contributes to the delivery of successful customer outcomes through legendary service.
