The Technology Business Management team provides cost transparency information and insight to the Operations and Delivery Division, and to the broader cost transparency work conducted by Finance; it does so via the use of Apptio, a commercial analytical application designed specifically for this purpose. We are now seeking an analyst to join the team in its efforts.

Who we're looking for

• A strong track record of using your own initiative to investigate and solve problems
• The ability to carry out root cause analysis and drive forward a resolution
• An eye for detail and an ability to spot something significant others might miss
• Strong numerical ability
• Good investigative and communication skills
• Excellent PC and Excel skills and the ability to quickly assimilate new systems

It would be nice if you also had knowledge of:
• Data modelling and analytics
• Technical solution design
• Retail banking, or financial services in general
• Apptio or other tools or methods of total cost of technology allocation

What you'll be doing

As part of a team of Technology Business experts, you will be:
• Promote the adoption of Apptio and engage with stakeholders, translating ideas into language that’s easily understood and that drives them to action
o Actively promote the aims of Nationwide’s IT cost transparency agenda
o Build strong relationships with key stakeholders from IT, Group Operations and Finance
o Analyse data and identify patterns and trends
o Communicate results and progress in a way that builds momentum, e.g. via use cases
• Deliver and extend our core service offering by actively engaging with consumers of Apptio data
o Maintain existing analytical reporting and further enhance insight by developing new reports and MI for key stakeholders
o Help with the continuous improvement of the data and model, keeping it relevant and up to date
o Drive insight for cost saving and/or operational efficiency
o Provide input into the roadmap for IT cost transparency
• Contribute to the personal development of the TBM team and the external community
o Complete and maintain industry recognised training
o Actively participate in an online community and regular TBM Council events
