Who we're looking for
Who we’re looking for is important, because you need to be a lot like us. To fit in at Nationwide, you’ll share our belief in helping others. Especially in this role. You need to be a wonderful, natural listener and communicator, the kind of person who can empathise with a member, understand what they want and work out what to do next. Some calls can be challenging, so you’ve also got to be able to take a step back, be resilient and professional, and keep striving to find the right answer even when the pressure is on. You don’t need to have worked in a contact centre before, because we’ll provide all the training you need. What’s most important is that you bring energy and enjoyment into work with you every day, taking real pride in helping our members get the outcome they need from every call.
What you'll be doing
Our members call our Contact Centre for lots of different reasons. They may have lost a bank card, need help navigating around our Mobile App or Online Bank. Little, day-to-day things that they just need help to sort out by a friendly voice with the minimum of fuss. You won’t know the answer to everything right there and then, nobody ever does, but we like to help our members by getting it right first time, and because this is Nationwide, you’ll get all the help you need too. From your colleagues, from your manager, from the wider business. If you do well, you’ll continue to get the support you need to keep on developing, because Nationwide is a great place to build a career.

A starting salary of £16,000, rising to £16,500 after your probation, you'll enjoy a 35 hour contract, with flexible shift patterns between 8am and 8pm, 24 days holiday with the option to buy more, flexible benefits, life assurance, and a generous pension scheme.
