Introduction

We need:

  • A People and Culture Change Project Consultant for our Employee Relations Team
  • Based at our Head Offices in Swindon
  • Salary £30,506 - £44,065 a year (depending on skills and experience) based on a 12 month FTC, full, part time and job share applications welcomed

You will be responsible for project work stream activities from inception through to delivery. The projects you will encounter will vary from restructuring and reorganisation to the incorporation of revised or new employment legislation. You will also identify and deliver continuous improvement activities and shape best practice across projects and impacted functions.

Who we're looking for

As a minimum requirement, you’ll have/be:

  • Demonstrable experience and ability to operate within a structured governance and risk environment
  • Good understanding of Nationwide Purpose and Strategy and how this fits with our approach to ER
  • Ability to manage stakeholders, build strong relationships and work collaboratively
  • Experience of working within a project environment and creating detailed project plans and reports
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent attention to detail, prioritisation and organisational skills
  • Ability to work with and resolve significant levels of ambiguity
  • Significant experience of managing multiple projects and initiatives
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to challenge and negotiate
  • Generalist HR experience as well as more detailed knowledge of the Employee Relations landscape – or at least a real interest in this area together with an understanding of the Society’s approach to, and relationship with, the NGSU

 It would be nice if you also had:

  • Significant experience of operating within an Employee Relations environment and preferably a unionised environment
  • A good working knowledge of the Job Security Policy and the HR Policy Point

What you'll be doing

In this role, you will: 

  • Be responsible for project work streams and identify, design, plan and deliver small to medium projects on time, to budget and in line with any statutory requirements
  • Facilitate workshops, preparation work and participate in wider project work stream activities
  • Create project governance reports and MI to inform on project progress and business decisions via detailed project planning
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement via appropriate updates, alerts and communications
  • Ensure agreed processes with NGSU are factored in, maintained and adhered to
  • Monitor project success, identify ways to overcome barriers and provide solutions
  • Manage sign off process of documents and SharePoint maintenance
  • Identify, design, plan and deliver continuous improvement initiatives to support projects
