The Data & Analytics community is responsible for transforming our data and analytics capability to enable our colleagues to better serve our members’ needs. Within the community, the Data & Analytics Solutions team is responsible for the design, engineering, test and deployment of our data platforms and solutions which are at the core of our strategic ambitions.
As a development team within Data and Analytics Solutions, we leverage the Society’s SAS infrastructure to provide data that supports the business in generating compelling insight and value to the Society. We have gained a reputation for accurate, high quality and timely data delivered in the form of a data warehouse as part of the SAS Business Intelligence platform.
Our team has a wide range of internal customers from across the Society, whose decisions depend on the data provide them. This means that we are at the forefront of new requirements for the Retail portfolio with continuous changes required for our processes to remain agile and relevant.
Who we're looking for
We need people with experience in working in a data warehouse environment or be a graduate with a strong technical/computer science or mathematical/numerate degree (2:1) or degree equivalent qualification.
You’ll need strong analytical, communication and IT skills, with experience of project work or in programming with SAS beneficial. Any commercial experience within the financial services sector or data analysis would be an advantage.
You’ll need to be passionate about becoming a technical expert within our SAS environment and ensuring that the data you provide is accurate and understood.
As part of the data team you will have the attributes to excel in an agile, dynamic and delivery focused environment. You will be able to translate business problems into technical solutions that are logical, efficient and sufficiently tested.
You’ll be joining a team of 7 who want to apply knowledge and creativity to help deliver best practice and innovation.
What you'll be doing
As part of the Data & Analytics Community, you’ll join our team that develop changes to the data warehouse using processes that follow an agile methodology.
You’ll interpret the business requirements and turn them into a technical solution using either SAS Base, SAS Enterprise Guide or SAS Data Integration Studio. This solution could be used for retail credit and capital modelling, reporting and analysis which makes us pivotal to the goals of the Society. Due to this importance, you’ll be doing this within our audited change management and development life-cycle.
Our team is always keen to learn, innovate and challenge each other. As an analyst within the team, you’ll be supporting the team leads and managers in both delivery and idea generation to make sure we are continuously improving as a team.
Your work will contribute to the overall aim of the Data & Analytics Community – removing legacy data marts and systems to create one trusted source of data for the entire business.
