Solution Architect, focusing on End User Services (Windows 10, Office 365, iOS, and OSX)
Based at Head Office Swindon
£49,000 - £63,500 a year on a permanent contract (35 hrs per week) dependent on skills and Send in your application by 24th September.

The Architecture domain is a vibrant and growing department within the Operations and Delivery Community of Nationwide with a challenging mandate to architect and assure the delivery of effective, well governed, innovative and pragmatic solutions within our large change portfolio.
We are moving at pace to transform our End User Service, introducing Windows 10, Office 365, and delivering a new set of modern evergreen end user capabilities. We need someone to be responsible for the architecture and solutions that support and develop our End User capabilities.
We are looking to offer an opportunity to the right candidate who could demonstrate the necessary capabilities to be a good Solution Architect specifically in the End User skill area. The successful candidate will work closely with the other areas of Architecture, Design practices and business stakeholders to ensure the architecture meets the needs of the Technology Strategy, identifying and prioritising Service requirements, and solutions, as the Society adopts a new evergreen End User environment.
Who we're looking for
You’ll be a credible individual who is armed with widespread experience of solution architecture, specifically in the area of End User Services.

As a skilled IT Solution Architect you will have the following skills and knowledge:
Analytical and technical ability with a robust grasp of architectural thinking and governance
A wide exposure to and experience of architecting and delivering large-scale technical solutions across multiple platforms
The ability to deliver technical solutions that support the IT strategic direction and needs of the business.
An understanding or the ability to quickly gain an understanding of our core systems and strategic direction
Experience in creating and managing complex, well-engineered documentation materials appropriate to the audience and situation that enable timely and informed decision making
Personal drive to understand the bigger picture and contribute to and shape the realisation of our IT strategy
Be comfortable and confident multitasking and working across a number of projects.
And as a specialist in End User Services you’ll have the following experience:
A sound track record and detailed experience in the End User Services space.
Deep knowledge of Windows 10, Microsoft Office 365, and iOS. Including their management at an enterprise scale.
Have a track record of implementing Microsoft desktop solutions at scale and to demanding timescales, including Office 365 cloud services such as Email, Teams, etc.
Against a back drop of rapidly evolving evergreen End User Services, the ability to quickly gain an understanding of new technologies and their impact on our strategic IT.
Have the ability to work closely with non-technical stakeholders to support the shaping and creation of requirements and designs; and have the ability to communicate technical issues and constraints to non-technical colleagues.
Experience of adopting the latest evergreen End User technologies, including positively influencing user adoption, and ensuring that they remain current.
It would be nice if you also had:
Experience of Microsoft Active Directory and Azure AD.
A knowledge of managing Apple Macs in an enterprise setting.
What you'll be doing
As a Solution Architect working within Infrastructure Architecture you’ll be part of a highly skilled team responsible for End User Services.
Working with Senior Architects to help deliver and maintain the IT strategy and architecture for the End User Service.
Identifying the impact on the End User environment of vendor roadmaps and industry trends to ensure that the IT strategy and architecture remains current and relevant.
Work with the service delivery teams to ensure that, in this fast moving and high change area of IT, the Society is able to keep the End User environment current and supported.
Provide education, advice and guidance to internal resources and to 3rd party suppliers to support a high cadence and evergreen End User environment.
Work closely with other Architects within the Business such as Business, IM, and Infrastructure Architects to understand and deliver the agreed strategic outcomes for the Solution Architecture
Lead E2E Architecture on a variety of projects on behalf of the Architecture function
Ensure Solution Integrity throughout the change lifecycle (as per the defined Change Framework) on projects and programmes.
Act as a design authority to ensure that solutions are fit for purpose, implementable, complete and meet the current and future needs of the business.
Provide specialist consultancy and advice on complex tasks, business functions and delivery solutions.
