• We need an Acquisition Strategy Product Manager within the Current Account Product Team
• Based at our Head Office in Swindon
• £41,951 - £46,612 p.a. based on a 35 hour week

• This is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave

The role will report directly in to the Head of Current Account (Acquisition) and is pivotal to ensuring we understand acquisition performance and quality across all our 6 products.  Current Account growth is a key area of focus for Nationwide, helping us grow our membership base and acting as the key platform from which to deepen and broaden member relationships.

The successful candidate will have personal accountability for a £20m+ acquisition budget to generate main current account relationships through Recommend-a-Friend.  Stakeholder management and influencing skills are essential, as the role will require day-to-day contact with distribution channels, Credit Risk, Marketing, Product Operations and Member Contact.

Who we're looking for

As a minimum requirement, you’ll:
• have proven experience in managing the end-to end oversight of a product(s)
• demonstrate the ability to think strategically, and to identify opportunities and risks relating to the stated Corporate Plan volumes.  Specific experience of setting and managing a product plan would be an advantage
• evidence your ability to manage a budget and how you have used that budget to meet stated aims and outcomes
• have strong stakeholder management skills and evidence times where you have influenced senior stakeholders to meet your requirements, particularly where there are competing priorities and/or a congested change framework
• be aware of Conduct and Outcome risks, and demonstrate an ability to identify, manage and mitigate any risks that are identified
• have strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data and present verbally and non-verbally, with excellent attention to detail
• be able to prove an innovative approach to problem solving.


What you'll be doing

• Driving cross-product priorities into Distribution sales channels; Marketing; Credit Risk and Member Contact via regular contact and monthly Boards and Steering Committees;
• oversight of the end-2-end opening journey, including the Joining Journey, account switching and operational SLAs;
• owning the acquisition budget for Recommend-a-Friend (RAF).  Reporting to the Head of on spend v budget and on the quality of accounts recruited via these initiatives ensuring we achieve good quality, cost effective recruitment of Main current accounts;
• working with Member Propositions to improve the RAF Member experience and to minimise complaints;
• working with the Product Manager responsible for other acquisition initiatives to ensure the combined spend remains within Plan and effective;
• owning the aggregate acquisition volume for Adult current accounts;
• owning the Account Transfer and Main account volumes;
• collating Product Plans and owning the product agnostic Plan;
• formulating and populating the Society Plan for current account acquisition;
• representing current account acquisition on cross-community projects such as Anti money laundering Regulations, Competition and Markets Authority and other projects from time-to-time;
• owning and reporting on Outcome and Operational Risks
