  • 12 Month Fixed Term Contract Opportunity

To lead a team of thirteen pensions administration specialists to deliver the administration of all Nationwide schemes (DB and DC) within service level agreements, meeting audit requirements and ensuring compliance with rules and legislation that govern pensions and the schemes. 

Who we're looking for

  • a proven pension professional with extensive previous experience of Defined Benefit pension arrangements, preferably within an ‘in-house’ environment
  • Preferably attained professional pensions qualifications (Diploma in Pension Calculations, PMI, etc.)
  • Already leading a team, or wanting to take next step in career in leading a team
  • Strong interpersonal skill set and ability to influence at all levels
  • Clear thinker and communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
  • Tact and diplomacy.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead a team of pensions specialists to deliver the administration of the DB scheme within the agreed service level agreements of the Trustees and to identify and resolve any issues impacting the SLA. To work with Pensions Administration Manager to monitor legislative changes and ensure that they are implemented into the administration to remain legally compliant for our DB scheme
  • Owner of administration risks and ensuring compliance for both the pension schemes. Ensuring that steps have been taken to mitigate any risks and both the Trustee and Society’s risk register are updated.
  • Managing the administration relationship with the Trustees providing regular MI against service contracts and highlighting opportunities and risks to the Pensions Administration Manager.
  • Work with team members to develop knowledge across the team, ensure that training needs are identified and met and provide coaching
