This is a chance to be involved in something brand new. As a Payments risk expert, you’ll help build, develop and implement payment risk and compliance controls for this new business proposition.

You’ll be instrumental in building a 1st line risk function that’s agile in the way it works, utilising the latest technology and advances in data management to be an innovative, industry leading risk function.  


Who we're looking for

We’re looking for a collaborator who can deliver at pace and can listen and absorb quickly but is also able to challenge effectively to drive the right outcomes.

As a minimum requirement you’ll:

•Have a wealth of experience in risk management in a financial services organisation. This would be with a focus on payment risk management across risks such as IT delivery, operations and compliance risk

•Have an excellent understanding of key regulations such as Payment Service Regulations, Payment Services Directive 2, Strong Customer Authentication and Confirmation of Payee

•Hold a strong understanding and experience in providing regulatory and risk management advice on payments processes and procedures

•Have experience providing risk management challenge and advice in the development of new product and propositions, and/or new infrastructure and processes to ensure key risks are identified, assessed and managed

•Have experience developing and delivering risk frameworks, to ensure risks are reported and monitored

•Be agile and pragmatic in your approach to change. Be able to take a holistic view of business risk decisions to ensure that the impact, or unintended consequences, are identified and understood as part of our decision-making processes

•Have worked in a collaborative environment and can evidence your ability to work successfully with others across a function, an organisation and with key external partners

As this is a role supporting our new business banking proposition, if you’ve got experience in this field that would be a bonus.

What you'll be doing

This is a fast-paced and environment where you’ll need to show flexibility and work with momentum.  You’ll be developing and implementing a payments risk and compliance framework to support something brand new.

You’ll be working as part of a small 1st line risk function to ensure that we appropriately identify, assess, manage, monitor and review all the key risks in development and delivery.

You’ll work collegiately with the team that’s developing and building out the new SME proposition. You’ll influence senior internal and external stakeholders to ensure the systems, controls, products are built in a way that ensures all risks are appropriately managed.
