An exciting opportunity has arisen in our IT Support Infrastructure Tooling team to provide production support for System Centre Configuration Manager Current Branch (CMCB) and System Centre Configuration Manager 2012 (SCCM).

You will be responsible for supporting the management and development of the SCCM and CMCB platform, as well as providing reactive and proactive support, solving technical and non-technical problems and providing advice to both technical and business areas to assist in the resolution and prevention of service impacting issues.

The tooling team supports and exploits the infrastructure that delivers enterprise-wide Systems Management solutions to ensure a continued level of performance and availability is maintained within the IT estate. Who we're looking for

You will be a self-motivated IT professional with a comprehensive experience in a 3rd line IT support role, having worked in an organisation following ITIL best practice and following a methodical, controlled, governed approach to project and systems management. You will have excellent technical, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to articulate risks and issues.

You would have worked as part of a technical support team taking an analytical approach to support and incident resolution with a clear understanding and experience of implementing system enhancements in an evergreen environment, to ensure efficient running of the Society’s technical infrastructure.

As a minimum requirement you’ll have:

  • A Computing Degree or equivalent IT industry experience
  • Experience of supporting System Configuration Manager infrastructure.
  • Experience with SCCM 2012
  • Experience with SCCM Current Branch
  • ITIL Experience in medium to large corporate environments
  • Experience of Windows Server 3rd line support
  • Be an approachable team member with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

It would be nice if you also have experience of:

  • Powershell scripting
  • Operating System Deployment and MDT
  • Application Packaging
  • Software Update Deployment
  • Data Center Management tools, such as Nlyte and DCIQ
  • Recent Microsoft or equivalent professional certification

What you'll be doing

You will be a member of the IT Support Infrastructure Tooling team, supporting CM2012 and CMCB, working as part of the bigger IT Support team which is responsible for supporting the infrastructure in the Nationwide data centres which provide services to both internal staff members and external customers.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Supporting the roadmap for System Centre Configuration Manager Current Branch
  • Working in a technical team within IT Support supporting SCCM performing both reactive and pro-active support duties
  • Liaise with Microsoft, assessing new features for suitability for exploitation within Nationwide.
  • Deputise for line manager when required.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of system upgrades in line with evergreen cadence.
  • Working with other support teams and SMEs to provide continual improvement to Nationwide IT systems
  • Knowledge sharing with other team members.
  • Providing technical advice and performing Acceptance Into Service for project deployments that impact your platform.
  • Creating knowledge articles for first and second line support teams.

You may be asked to provide support for the tooling on a 24x7 basis (out of business hours support will be provided by on-call rotas).
