As a Marketing Consultant in the 121 Member Engagement team you will play a key role in the end to end delivery of our member communications. This includes selecting the right members, the most appropriate channels, the development and management of the creative execution and member journeys as well as measuring and understanding the performance. You’ll work alongside our fantastic Analytics, Database Marketing and Content Editors to make this happen. If you are experienced in direct marketing, passionate and creative with strong commercial acumen and a flair for communications, then we want to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be working in a team that has accountability for the end to end delivery of member marketing communications that deliver against our Society KPIs.

You will need to interpret and respond to briefs, select the right combination of member communications channels in response, define target audiences, produce, design, and manage the creative content and measure and report outcomes and continuous improvement opportunities.

You’ll have access to channels like; direct mail, email, digital prompts in our internet bank and mobile app, home & exit pages as well as the ability to deliver targeted insight to our front-line colleagues. Technology has also allowed us to extend our member contact strategy in recent years into new channels like digital display, social and targeted video on demand.

You will be part of our Propositions & Engagement community, but you’ll work with other teams too, including those who run our website, design our products and services, analyse our data, manage our suppliers and look after our members.

About you

We’re looking for somebody who has;

  • Experience working across the end to end delivery of member/customer communications
    • Experience of planning, using insight to select audiences and understanding performance
    • Experience of writing and developing own creative as well as working with creative agencies
  • Experience of 1-2-1 channel communications, best practice, and their place within the marketing mix
  • A good communicator, confident at both writing and presenting, experience in creating engaging communications that capture an audience
  • Able to understand, analyse and interpret data/insight to make informed recommendations.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills and ability to manage and own multiple competing priorities and deliverables.                
  • Proactive and empowered to make decisions within a framework.
  • Experience working within a marketing or direct marketing environment. Financial Sector experience is desirable but not essential
