We are looking for a Compliance Advice Senior Consultant on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

As a Compliance Advice Senior Consultant you’ll work closely with the business to provide regulatory advice and to ensure customer and compliance risk is identified and managed. You’ll be instrumental in the delivery of regulatory change through providing advice and will support the development and implementation of business strategies and goals. Your understanding of our existing compliance position and the wider external regulatory agenda will enable the business to make the right decisions for our members.

This role is within the Compliance & Conduct Risk Centre of Excellence, a dynamic multi-disciplinary team which forms part of our first line of defence. We’re at the forefront of regulatory change, providing real-time advice and subject matter expertise on all aspects of Member impacting regulation. This is vital to ensure that Nationwide achieves its strategic ambitions within risk appetite, remains compliant and does the right thing for our members - they’re everything to us.

You'll be part of a close-knit team and provide risk and regulatory advice, to our Proposition & Engagement and Relationships & Distribution Teams plus our Member Missions. Nationwide are making significant investments in product development, so you’ll get the opportunity to work on some exciting new propositions and ways of delivering financial services to our Members; so if you have a passion for doing the right thing in the right way, this role may be for you.

What you’ll be doing

We’ll need you to provide your expert view into a range of projects including products, sales and service development and change with particular focus on Investments and Pensions & Retirement. In fact, one of your biggest areas of focus will be supporting the development of an exciting Pensions & Retirement proposition.

You’ll lead the way in supporting the identification, assessment and implementation of compliance and conduct controls across your business area.

You’ll also manage your own business area relationships and, using your accountable freedom, act as a trusted adviser and work with your stakeholders to understand their needs and priorities, providing right first-time guidance.  

About you

As a minimum you’ll:

  • Be experienced in interpreting rules and regulations and in providing right first-time regulatory advice
  • Have excellent knowledge in one or more of the following product sets:
    Pensions & Retirement.
  • Demonstrate good knowledge and well-developed understanding of Risk practice/ methodology
  • Be experienced in developing strong working relationships at all levels
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, written and verbal
