We are currently looking for an Audit Manager who has internal or external audit experience in payment systems and application controls. In this role, you’ll work within the Resilience and Agility (R&A) Portfolio and carry out audits on payment processing systems and applications which enable NBS to deliver payment services timely and securely.

What you’ll be doing

Working alongside your colleagues you’ll use your previous auditing experience and specialist knowledge of payments systems, application processing and IT general controls to deliver high quality, impactful audits.

You will take responsibility for scoping and delivery of audits, producing high quality audit papers and building good stakeholder relationship.

About you

You are an experienced auditor or risk assurance specialist who has an end-to-end process knowledge of at least one of the payment schemes (e.g. Faster Payments, BACs, CHAPs, Debit Cards).

In your previous engagements, you have successfully demonstrated your understanding of key risks pertinent to payment processing and led or participated in assurance engagements to assess the effectiveness of relevant application and IT controls.

As a minimum you’ll need to have:

  • Relevant payment specific assurance experience and a good professional knowledge of audit or risk assurance activities;
  • Strong experience in managing assurance engagements to evaluate and assess effectiveness of controls related to payment processing systems, operations and IT general controls;
  • End to end process understanding of at least one of the of the payment schemes (Faster Payments, BACs, CHAPs, Debit Cards) or product/channels (e.g. Cards, ATM, Open Banking);
  • Participated in IT general controls reviews across various IT processes, including but not limited to, system monitoring, batch controls, access and change management, authentication, and disaster recovery processes;
  • Great teamworking and collaboration skills, as you’ll need to work effectively with colleagues;
  • Experience producing clear, comprehensive and concise documentation which will support your audit work;
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining professional business relationships with key stakeholders in defined areas of the business;
  • Analytical, problem solving, organisational, lateral thinking and interpersonal skills;
  • A recognised IT and/or audit professional qualification such as CISA, CIA, CSIM, PCI DSS, CGEIT, CSSP, CRISC, or equivalent.

Experience in the following areas may also be beneficial in this role:

  • Scheme assurance and attestation requirements (e.g. FPS, CASS, Cash ISA, Link, SWIFT);
  • Payment related regulations (e.g. PSD2);
  • Key payments industry topics and regulatory changes (e.g. New Payments Architecture, ISO20022;
  • Business change, programme/project delivery and strategic transformation activities;
  • Cloud computing, security controls, and third party audits;
  • Authentication;
  • Data Analytics.
