We’re looking for someone who can really make a difference as part of a highly professional and friendly Community. As an Audit Manager within the Strategy & Change Portfolio you’ll lead audits covering the breadth of change activities at Nationwide.  Nationwide has an ambitious strategy with our members at its core; and internal audit is looking for an audit manager to help provide assurance over delivery of these strategic changes.

You’ll be primarily focused on providing real time assurance over the planning, governance and execution of strategic, programme and change activities. As an Audit Manager, you’ll also take responsibility for co-ordinating the delivery team, identifying development needs and coaching individuals to achieve their performance objectives.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys a challenge; commercially minded, energetic and willing to try new approaches, with a collaborative mindset.  Proven technical experience in auditing business and technology change activities providing dynamic feedback in a fast-paced change environment, with experience of agile, will be an advantage.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll work collaboratively to deliver high quality and impactful audits across Nationwide’s strategy and change portfolios. 

To support this, you will use strong influencing skills, listening and building trust with your stakeholders, including the business and colleagues from across Internal Audit. 

About you

We’re looking for an experienced audit manager with experience of auditing strategic and change activities.  This would include experience of auditing in a project/programme environment at all stages of the change lifecycle, both real time assurance and standard audits.  This will involve working with stakeholders to provide assurance on delivery risks and controls, including governance activities.  Knowledge of agile working practices would be helpful, especially if gained in a financial services environment.  Full training on our audit approach, including the use of agile auditing techniques will be provided.

As a minimum you’ll:

  • Have experience of auditing strategic and change activities;
  • Be able to collaborate with the Audit Senior Manager to help develop the audit plan covering technology services
  • Have subject matter expertise relevant to the key areas of strategy development, execution and the project and change lifecycle
  • Have strong organisational skills to drive individual audits plans and delivery, ensuring they’re high quality, value-adding and in line with our audit methodology; 
  • Coach your colleagues to build their skills and confidence, providing feedback and helping them to be their best and deliver efficiently to the highest professional standards;
  • Confidently influence others and build professional business relationships, demonstrating your proven collaboration and negotiating skills;
  • Be comfortable with change and identifying continuous improvements to deliver our audit strategy and improve
