PG&P sits within the People and Culture Community, our purpose is to ‘Build our future Society and help our people grow’. We’re made up of 3 Practices:

  • Learning & Skills

Each Practice directly supports our Society’s Strategic plans, ultimately supporting our colleagues to deliver the best experience for our members.

At Nationwide we openly put our 15 million members at the centre of every decision we make as a business. Every role, no matter what it’s doing, is member focused.

Your success isn’t based on how long you spend at your desk. You’ll have contracted hours, but we’re always happy to support flexible working wherever we can. That might mean working from home or different Nationwide offices or agreeing a working pattern to help you balance work and life. We will always strive to find a way that works for everyone.

What you’ll be doing

This role is based in the “home” team of Learning and Skills. You’ll work as part of a small team working to drive efficiencies and build a strategy which supports the reduction in the Society’s costs associated with external training and coaching spend. This will involve

  • Gathering and analysing internal and external data to provide insight in support of defining our future people development supplier strategy
  • Work with procurement to research and manage where appropriate the RFP process
  • Engagement of our new Learning Experience Platform (LXP) tream to understand how we can increase engagement and learning via the platform.
  • Delivering society-wide inclusive learning solutions that supports our People Strategy

You’ll help to identify the people development needs we need to succeed into the future that require the support of partner suppliers and enable a continuous learning culture through the activity you deliver.

Working flexibly, joining face to face where necessary, you’ll work using both virtual and agile ways of working. As part of a Squad, you’ll attend daily stand ups and scrum events to drive efficiencies and deliver at pace.

You may also support wider PG&P initiatives by being a member of an “away” team so that people with the right expertise work on the right activity at the right time.

As a minimum you will have:

  • Comfortable to conduct research both internally and externally
  • Able to understand, analyse and interpret insight to inform decision making
  • Understanding of the procurement process
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity
  • Consultancy skills to assess future needs of the Society
  • Creative mindset and passion to innovate
  • Effective stakeholder management skills at different levels
  • Strong communication skills, confident at both writing and presenting both face to face and virtual

Why work at Nationwide

We’re different from other financial service providers. We’re a building society, owned by our members. And for over 130 years, we’ve supported those members to make the most of their money and achieve what they want from life.

That’s reflected in the way we work here at Nationwide. We come together to make sure we’re doing things in the best way possible, both for each other and for our members. If you join us, you’ll be part of that. You’ll be able to help us build something really quite special. And you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference.

On top of that, we always want you to be yourself. To use your skills and experience to make our Society stronger. To feel valued for who you are, not just what you do. Because here at Nationwide, we understand that we can do more together than we ever could alone.
