As part of the Moments that Matter Mission, Member Service is a specialist regulated complaints function. We manage c110k complaints each year, with c450 direct Member Service and c7k indirect Complaints Community colleagues

As a highly credible Learning & Development professional you will lead and be accountable for the successful implementation and delivery of quality training to contribute towards the societies and missions vision and success. You will support many key stakeholders including a variety of Senior Leadership Teams as our Training Team is accountable for supporting Member Service (Including DSARs), Remediation Centre of Excellence and Specialist Support.

The impact of this will contribute to local and society business priorities. This will be achieved through the delivery of employee capability and performance in key areas of the society plan.

Since the pandemic, the majority of our colleagues are home-working, and we maintain a small office-based presence in our regional hubs in Northampton, Swindon and Dunfermline. So whether you want to work from home, or at one of these locations (occasionally or all of the time), we’ll be guided by you.

What you’ll be doing

Your role will involve the development of the training team and influencing our stakeholders ensuring our training remains fit for purpose as the needs of our members and our colleagues evolves

You will lead conversations across departments to identify opportunities to develop consistent and high impact training programmes, from New Starter Inductions through to Maintaining Competence Learning

You will plan and prioritise training for your area in a timely manner, ensuring that Senior Leaders are engaged with the timings which fit within their demands

Actively contribute to the success of our mission, co creating solutions, joining the dots where appropriate, sharing learning and feedback to encourage growth

Undertake continuous research to develop and drive learning best practise across our mission and the wider society

You will coach and support your team of Training Professionals, working with them to achieve their society and personal goals. You will adhere to a Training and Competency Framework, evidencing how you attain and maintain the competence of your team.

You will report to the Senior Operations Manager of the Training Team, Matthew Tyler.

About you

As a minimum requirement you will have:

  • A strong understanding of policy, process and governance structures to ensure appropriate signs offs have taken place with any material being produced
  • Be an excellent communicator both verbally and in written communications and have a passion for connecting with people to ensure good outcomes can be achieved as efficiently and effectively as possible
  • Be highly proactive and motivated with a keen desire to drive improvements and to see the bigger picture.
  • Ability to work at pace to a consistent high standard.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Have experience in supervising a team of Training professionals to agreed standards within a Training & Competence Framework ensuring design and delivery of high quality learning solutions to attain and maintain competence of employees (at all levels) associated with specified business areas or projects
  • Manage key relationships across the business (up to Level 3) to ensure progress towards agreed actions meets objectives and is within timescales and budget
  • Provide expert and professional support to senior stakeholders on employee learning and development making commercially focused recommendations to meet business needs
  • Support internal projects and initiatives across the mission to ensure maximum business benefit
  • Accountable for the design and delivery of compliant training ensuring it meets the needs of external and internal regulatory requirements
