We are looking for an experienced audit manager who is up for a challenge tenacious and positive in your approach, curious and willing to adapt and learn.  The role focuses on audits of Nationwide’s products, distribution and engagement with its members, but may also require you to work on audits covering other areas in the Society. You’ll be someone who displays the right values, attitude and behaviours– not only to fit in with our highly professional and friendly team, but also to be an ambassador for our Community across Nationwide.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll work collaboratively to deliver high quality and impactful audits over areas that directly impact our members, using your subject matter knowledge on retail banking products, services and customer engagement.   

To support this, you will use strong influencing skills, listening and building trust with your stakeholders, including the business and colleagues from across Internal Audit. 

About you

We are looking for an experienced manager with audit or assurance experience, with the ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders to design and deliver audit activities covering our proposition and engagement portfolio.

You’ll need to:

  • Have experience and a good professional knowledge of internal audit or assurance activities,
  • Have experience and a good knowledge of financial service products including their design, sales and service across multiple channels and the impact this has on our members. This includes understanding the latest relevant industry developments and regulatory expectations to influence our audit
  • Have exceptional organisational skills to support delivery of varying complexity audit activities, ensuring high quality results and full compliance with our audit
  • Coach your colleagues to build their skills and confidence, providing feedback and helping them to be their best and deliver efficiently to the highest professional standards.
  • Confidently influence others and build professional business relationships, demonstrating your proven collaboration and negotiating skills.
  • Be tenacious, positive and brave in your approach, will always be supported to be your most productive and best self.
  • Be comfortable with change and identifying continuous improvements to deliver our audit strategy and improve.
  • Have, or be willing to complete, a relevant professional qualification (for example, the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors).
