Due to COVID-19 the way we are operating as an organisation has changed. As we continue to navigate the varying and unprecedented landscape we are continuing to work on how and where our teams work during this time. As a result, we are flexible on location, and whilst this role will involve working remotely to begin with, the role may require regular travel to Northampton / Bournemouth/ Swindon or other sites as necessary.

The Start date for this apprenticeship will be September 28th 2021 on a permanent, full time contract, working 35-hours per week working towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business Administration over a period of 12 - 18 months.

What you’ll be doing

We have Business Administration Apprenticeship roles within 2 different business areas you can choose from to study towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business, which are detailed below. You’ll be asked to select your preference when applying.

Propositions & Engagement

As part of the Propositions & Engagement community, you will be helping to build and maintain propositions that make a real difference to the lives of our members. From Current Accounts and Savings to Mortgages and Credit Cards, the work is varied – for example analysing one of the markets in which we operate to help inform product pricing or working with colleagues across the Society to help deliver a new product or proposition to our members.

Key activities you’ll be undertaking include: creating proposals, recording information and producing data analysis in MS Office. Making recommendations for improvements and presenting solutions to management. Making effective decisions based on sound reasoning and dealing with challenges in a mature way. Building and maintaining positive relationships within your own team and across the Society. Taking responsibility for initiating and completing tasks, managing priorities and time in order to successfully meet deadlines.

Homes & Dreams

As an apprentice in Mortgage Operations you’ll be part of a high performing team. You’ll be responsible for carrying out customer requests, keying both financial and non-financial transactions on a variety of accounts. We will give you full training to support you in doing this efficiently and accurately as safeguarding our customers personal data is vitally important. You will have the opportunity to take on new challenges alongside gaining valuable business skills. In Mortgage Operations, we will support you with your development to shape your future career.

Whilst on the apprenticeship you’ll have the opportunity to do all the tasks required as a team member and have all the coaching and support that you need to ensure that you are continuously learning and improving in your new job. In addition to your new role, we will provide a full company induction, on the job training, development and support from Nationwide as well as your own Apprentice Training Provider Assessor.

About you

As a minimum requirement, you’ll:

  • Have achieved a minimum Grade C / 4 or above in Maths & English Language GCSE (or equivalent)
  • Pass the online assessments
  • Need to be living in the UK
  • Be enthusiastic and keen to continuously learn and improve
  • Be a confident communicator, both verbal and written
  • Have advanced IT skills, particularly in Word, PowerPoint and Excel

It would be nice if you also had:

  • A strong attention to detail
  • Interpersonal and influencing skills
  • A proven ability to be a good team player
