Do you want to work from home? People need our help more than ever, within our Collections & Recoveries department you’ll use your customer service skills to guide them through these tricky times over the phone. The Collections & Recoveries department is playing a vital role in supporting our members during these unprecedented times.

What you’ll be doing

At Nationwide we believe in helping others, that’s where you come in. We’re looking for people with a positive and inquisitive mindset and a commitment to support our members when they need it most. Your role will be to help our members who are facing financial difficulty. This will entail having honest conversations about their personal and financial situation, to enable you to establish which options are most suitable to get them back on track.  

This is a telephone-based role that will involve speaking directly with members showing sensitivity and empathy to our members through what can be difficult and often  sensitive conversations. This will require you to have a level of personal resilience.

 

About you

Preferably you will have previous experience working in a Collections or Recoveries environment and be skilled at supporting people who are experiencing financial difficulty. As a minimum you will have a customer service background, and importantly want to  make a real difference in people’s lives. We’ll give you all the training you need to set you up for a successful journey with us, in this highly rewarding role.

Your initial training will be located on site in one of our hub locations, to enable you to get settled into your role and to meet your trainers so you must be able to travel and, where required, stay over for up to a week, funded by Nationwide.  After which your training will continue from your home location 

You’ll need to

  • Be resident and eligible to work in the UK
  • You must be based within a commutable distance to one of our Admin Centres or Branches, as in the event that you encounter technical issues we will require you to work from a NBS building, until your IT issues are resolved. 
  • You will be expected to have a high level of technical understanding and ensure your IT Equipment is set up correctly, with the support of our IT Department and you will be responsible & accountable for keeping our members data safe and secure at all times.
  • You must have access to a dedicated work space free from all distractions.
  • You must have access to a private , stable and ideally super-fast broadband connection.
