We are looking for a highly experienced Network Security Engineer who also has a solid routing and switching background and has experience supporting network security infrastructure in large enterprises. This is someone who has an innovative approach to networking, adopting and advocating automation to configure and support the devices for which you are responsible. This person needs to not settle for the ‘as is’ but, reach and challenge both current design and support processes. You will be working in a small but highly skilled and experienced team, complemented by outsourced resources. Governance is an important part of this role and you will need to be comfortable to both perform reviews and being audited yourself. What you’ll be doing

You will be working within our L3 Network Support team. This group is responsible for the full lifecycle management, from acceptance into service, through to updates of operating systems. As well as problem management associated with network security devices, identifying root cause of simple to complex issues. You will be involved with governance and audits against the network. There is also a part to play in project delivery of new devices and services.


About you

As a minimum requirement you will have the following:

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Network Security Engineer
  • Minimum CCNP Security or equivalent
  • Subject Matter Expert in deploying. supporting and troubleshooting Cisco ASA, Cisco Firepower, Cisco FTDs, Cisco ISE, Juniper SRX, Cisco FMC, Junos Space, and Web proxies.
  • Experience of using network management/monitoring tools e.g Splunk , TIG stack, Microfocus NOM Suite, Skybox
  • Experience of automation E.G. Creating Ansible playbooks
  • Experience of web proxies, E.G. Broadcomm ProxySG
  • Experience of network load balancers E.G. F5
  • Experience of IPS/IDS systems
  • Experience of Cisco ACI
  • Experience of DDOS protection solutions and techniques
  • Experience of Network Security best practices

It would be desirable if you also had implementation, design or support experience of:

  • Cisco IOS, IOS XE and IOS XR
  • MPLS Core and Edge
  • Routing protocols
  • Web Proxies
  • Cloud Hosting (AWS, Azure)
  • InfoBlox DNS and IPAM
  • DNS
  • Thousandeyes
  • Experience of working with outsourced implementation and operational partners
