The Data and Analytics Community exists to provide a broad range of data products to colleagues across the Society.  We require an experienced BI Specialist to deliver insight, reporting and  that support proposition development and problem resolution, as part of that Community

As a member of our Business Intelligence Centre of Excellence, you will be part of a community of practitioners whose collective role is to enhance value through data, and colleagues in this CoE will help you to grow your capability and skills.  From a task perspective, you will be working in one of our Data Product teams, focussing on delivering shared outcomes that the Product Owner has prioritised, bringing your insight development skills as part of a multi-skilled team. 

You will be expected to provide coaching and mentoring to colleagues across the BI Centre of Excellence to help grow collective capability in your core area of expertise.

What you’ll be doing

From a task perspective, you will be working in one of our Data Product teams, focussing on delivering shared outcomes that the Product Owner has prioritised, bringing your insight development skills as part of a multi-skilled team. 

This could mean you apply your skills to supporting proposition development in one of our Mission or Community data teams, be unlocking insights to support Channel developments, or supporting resolution of Member operational incidents with auditable well controlled data.  Being part of a data Product team, you will be expected to learn and apply skills outside of your core discipline of Insight Analysis, getting involved in business analysis, engineering of data and visualising data, in order to achieve the Product team outcomes.

As a BI Specialist, you will be expected to provide coaching and mentoring to colleagues across the BI Centre of Excellence, and invest time in growing collective capability in the CoE through your core area of expertise (Insight Analysis).

About you

We’re looking for candidates that have leadership experience within an analysis environment, with experience in financial services or retail preferred.

As a minimum requirement you’ll:

  • Have experience using Base SAS, Enterprise Guide or SQL, with a good understanding of Financial Services data.
  • Experience of working in a fast paced analysis or reporting role working to tight deadlines and delivering high quality outputs and reconciliations.
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring Analysts within a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to provide highly-effective subject matter expertise to both internal and external stakeholders, translating complex data findings to easily consumable stories that drive action.
  • Be curious, innovative, creative and agile, developing and championing new ideas, spotting opportunities, and learning fast along the way.
  • Influential, personally resilient, with exceptional written and verbal communication.
  • Have excellent communication skills and be good at building relationships across all levels.
