Data Insight and Business Intelligence is a new team in Nationwide built to transform the data intelligence into the Society. The team is responsible for data personalisation feeding into every customer interaction, commercial analytics, and the data infrastructure, tools, and self-serve BI capability.

This role is responsible for a pivotal function within the Data & Analytics area. Are you highly experienced in BI data infrastructure, and leading advanced BI practitioners. If so, this opportunity might be for you...

 

 

What you’ll be doing

Your primary role will be to own and deliver the BI Self-Serve capability as Nationwide embark on a transformation which will see significant investment into the Data & Analytics function. Key deliverables include:-

  • Developing the new ‘self serve – 360 degree data mart’
  • Nurture and grow a team that can deliver upon the strategy
  • Own the BI tools, infrastructure, and governance of the self-service model
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders to understand business needs to set the vision and roadmap for self-serve
  • Champion a culture that achieves business goals, delights customers, and keeps data advocacy at the heart of everything
  • Strong background in implementing data management practices, data marts, business intelligence and data visualisation technologies
  • Continuous improvement mindset of driving data quality and data quality measurement
  • Develop and govern guardrails for BI platform usage supporting safe, federated BI development across the Society. 

About you

We're looking for someone with:

  • Deep expertise and knowledge in Business Intelligence technologies such as QlikSense, Power BI, or ThoughtSpot
  • Proven experience of creating and delivering Business Intelligence infrastructure roadmaps, architectural guardrails in large scale organisations, with a track record of enabling BI self-service
  • A passion for people leadership with strong experience of leading, coaching and developing large numbers of Business Intelligence developers and consultants
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to nurture and lead a high performing team
  • Resilient and able to uncover and solve for blockers as well as following necessary processes
  • Advocacy for data-driven decisions, strong data governance and data quality
  • Strong capability of working with teams to implement new technology, creating scalable solutions, and resolving complex technical issues
  • Ability to keep abreast of the latest data technologies and BI trends in the market
