We’re looking for an engineer with a B2B (including but not limited to Sterling File Gateway) background to join the team. You will be playing a key role to help deliver the SFG roadmap, you will also have network, database and infrastructure experience. You will be comfortable driving technical decisions by providing the team with structured technical problem solving skills.

You will be involved at all stages from proof of concept, design, build and test through to live support.

What you’ll be doing

Working within the SFG Feature Team you will be working collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels to extract requirements and develop technical solutions that meet the needs of the business. Using your SME knowledge, you will offer expert advice and consultancy, build systems and work through problems to provide reliable outcomes. Your B2B background will also be valuable to identify areas of improvement and pro-actively develop timely solutions to avoid service disruption. You will also enhance and support existing in-house and third-party systems to create the best solutions for Nationwide. After a qualifying period, you will be expected to take part in an on-call support rota of approximately one week in four.

  • Passionate about building reliable, effective systems that meet the business needs
  • Comfortable working across multiple projects and immersing yourself in a team
  • Ready to share your expertise
  • Able to build good working relationships with both technical and business stakeholders, gaining their respect and trust based on your knowledge and professionalism
  • Able to help shape and design technical solutions

 

You will have experience of:

  • Designing/building/supporting B2B/SFG solutions
  • Working in an agile way

 

Some experience of the following would be an advantage:

  • Working with Jira and Confluence in an Agile environment
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
