In Credit Risk Measurement we’re looking for a Senior Risk Analyst to be part of our forecasting and stress testing team. The team help to ensure that Nationwide is built to last by forecasting credit risk on the Society’s lending portfolios across a variety of different economic scenarios. This includes producing forecasts for both internal and regulatory exercises.

Who we're looking for

As a minimum requirement you’ll:
• Have either a strong degree in a numerate discipline, or strong experience in a similar role
• Be able to produce high quality written and verbal communication, including results of reporting and presentations for stakeholders
• Have experience of building relationships and communicating with confidence whilst also working well on your own initiative
• Use detailed logic and analysis to review and challenge forecasting outputs
• Be able to produce accurate, sense checked results whilst meeting key deadlines
• Have excellent Excel skills
• Be able to code independently using SAS
• Take the initiative and proactively offer solutions to problems

It would be nice if you also had:
• Risk management experience of retail portfolio forecasting and stress testing

What you'll be doing

Under the guidance of a lead risk manager, you’ll produce credit risk forecasts to provide the business with insight into how our retail credit portfolios perform in different economic scenarios. You’ll:


• Run forecasting models in SAS to produce default rates and financial outputs
• Investigate and understand the data to be able to identify key insights, produce reports/presentations and explain the outputs to others
• Work with other teams to ensure that forecasts reflect the most appropriate parameters and risk inputs
• Ensure that the final forecasts are accurate within a high level of control

You will work on a variety of forecasting scenarios including both regulatory stress tests for the PRA and internal Financial Planning.
