Helping Nationwide colleagues with elderly caring responsibilities

We recognise the emotional and physical impact caring for an elderly person can have. As part of our commitment to build an inclusive environment where everyone can feel valued and supported, we have launched the Care Concierge Service, a new tool to support colleagues who have caring responsibilities - provided by Legal & General.

Our colleagues now have access to a team of care experts who specialise in offering support to those with elder care responsibilities. They help in finding the care that a loved one may need, whether that’s in their own home or a care home.

The service provides free access to:

  • One-to-one telephone support provided by care experts.
  • A suite of digital tools and resources.
  • A review of all care funding options that may be available to meet the cost of care.
  • A personalised plan that summarises the guidance given to help plan ahead.

NGSU (Nationwide Group Staff Union) said “We are pleased to hear the Care Concierge Service is being made available to all colleagues. We hope this will offer valuable support and assistance to our members, helping them navigate the challenges of caregiving whilst trying to achieve a better balance between work, family, and personal responsibilities.”

Joanna Hall, Co-Chair of the Working Carers Network said “This will be invaluable for many of our working carers who experience various challenges whilst juggling caring responsibilities and work – it’s great our colleagues will be able to talk about their individual circumstances. It can be a difficult time for these colleagues, so these resources and tools will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!”
