Milestones of commitment: Recognising long service
Last week, we held our long-service awards event, recognising colleagues reaching 30 and 40 years of service at Nationwide.
Scarlett Rolt from our Rewards and Benefits team organised the event:
“The recognising loyalty event for our colleagues reaching 30- and 40-years of service gave us the opportunity to celebrate colleagues’ continuous contributions over the years. There was an informative yet engaging talk from our Society Archivist who took us on a journey about Nationwide’s heritage – you could feel the nostalgia in the room! It was amazing to see our ExCo members connecting with colleagues and sharing experiences which really made colleagues feel valued and special.”
Debbie Crosbie, our Chief Executive commented: “Our people are what make Nationwide special. They are so important to everything we do, so we make sure we look after them and celebrate the contribution they make.”
Throughout the event, we spoke with colleagues who were being recognised:
Rachel Roberts – 30 years of service:
“Nationwide has been very good to me, I’ve been presented with many career opportunities, I started as a Cashier and have worked my way up to a Senior Branch Manager. Some of my best friends are from the first branch I worked in when I was 18 years old.”
Claire Barratt – 30 years of service:
“I’ve always felt so supported and the colleagues I’ve worked with throughout my years are great.”
Robert Smith – 40 years of service:
“It’s been great to reminisce on old times, looking through the Nationwide archives, you don’t realise how quickly time has gone.”
