We're made up of Retail Products, Retail Operations and Retail Services and together we develop and deliver compelling banking and saving products for our customers, supported by excellent services that bring our Blueprint for a Modern Mutual to life.

Helping members to save goes back to our roots and the core purpose of a building society. Retail products make it simple for everyone to get the banking, saving and borrowing products they need.
Enabling and delivering Simply brilliant service is what our contact centre, digital chat, and branch teams pride themselves on,. However a customer interacts with us they’re able to do what they need, quickly and easily.
Safeguarding our customers and the wider community, supporting customers through financial hardship and other life events, and resolving complaints. Retail Operations are there for our customers.
Unlike the big banks, we’re not closing our branches
We know branches are important to our customers. So, if we have a branch in your town or city, we'll still be there until at least 2026*.
Our branch teams know the benefits of working face to face with customers, to build More rewarding relationships and deliver Simply brilliant service. That's the way we think banking should be.
Knowing our customers still value speaking face-to-face alongside calling us or using our digital services is why we made our Branch Promise in March 2019. And why we have renewed it until at least 2026.

Providing Simply brilliant service
Nationwide regained the title of Which? Recommended Provider in the consumer champion’s annual analysis. We're proud to deliver Simply brilliant service.
Over 3,400 members of the public were surveyed in July 2023. Which? asked participants to rate each provider’s customer service. Nationwide topped the table with a 78% ‘customer score’ rating.
We achieved the full five stars for customer service and transparency of charges, and four stars for flexibility of payments and clarity of statements. High street banks such as Barclays, HSBC, and Halifax lagged behind.
